Bio

Pastor John Philip was pastor of the Pentecostal Assembly Muscat for a two-year period from June, 2012-2014. Prior to his current assignment in Muscat, Pastor Philip was ministering at Ittiyappara (Ranni) branch church of the Church of God (Full Gospel) in India. Hailing from Ezhamkulam (near Adoor) in Pathanamthitta district in the South Indian state of Kerala, Pastor Philip has been serving the God over the last three decades in various capacities, including preacher, minister, bible college faculty and Christian writer. Pastor Philip served as a director of Nagapur-based Mission India, Principal of Asian Bible College, a faculty member of New India Bible College (Payippad) and India Bible College (Kumbanad). Pioneering his work in New Delhi and Uran, Pastor Philip was instrumental in planting churches in various parts of North India as well as in Kerala.

Pastor Philip started preaching the word of God at the age of 15 among college students, which resulted in several non-believers accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Later he joined the Inter-Collegiate Prayer Fellowship (ICPF) to enhance his work among university students. Apart from a bachelor’s degree from University of Kerala, Pastor Philip has master’s degrees in both divinity and theology from Pune-based Union Bible Seminary (UBS). His wife is Shirly John and the couple is blessed with two children – Lois John and Joel John.
