Life at IBCS

An institution committed to quality theological education in tranquil and serene settings.

Diversity

More than 30 languages are represented in the student body

In keeping with our vision to proclaim Christ and build his church all over India and around, our student body represents this diversity. We have men and women coming from all over India and also from Nepal and Bhutan creating a rich cultural experience. We also have students from different age groups pursuing theological training together giving an enriching campus learning.

Mentoring

Teachers mentor students in small groups as well as individually. Since students and most of our faculty live on campus, there is ample opportunity to learn and grow exceptionally and remain in close fellowship and prayer.

Faculty and Staff

We have over 60 faculty members and 50 support staff

Our senior most teacher is Pastor M.V. Varghese who is 95. Our faculty is highly qualified and also involved in continuous learning, furthering their own education taking learning programs around the world.

Guest Speakers

Church leaders from different organisations in India and abroad visit IBCS regularly to expose our students to a wide variety of ministries and learnings from different contexts.

In 2018-19, we had 25 distinguished guest teachers visit the campus.

The Campus Experience

IBCS places a high value on equipping the church with qualified leaders with sound theological training providing multiple opportunities for students to learn from faculty as well as distinguished leaders from around the world. Through our chapel services, classrooms, summer ministry and unstructured learning times, we have been able to train over 14,000 leaders in the last 90 years.

Chapel Services

Spiritual emphasis meetings, weekly and monthly fasting prayers, all night prayers, Hindi and English worship services are a regular part of the IBCS life.

Sports & Athletics

Students are encouraged to participate in inter-house sports matches as well as free play during the course of their times at IBCS. Teamwork and leadership skills are honed on and off the field along with physical fitness.

Arts & Culture

Students are exposed to various performing arts to develop their confidence, intellect and cultural understanding and also to learn how to use these mediums for effective communication.

Practical Ministry

Students are imparted practical ministry training during their study. Some of the opportunities include children’s ministry, preaching opportunities in various languages, serving in orphanages, open-air meetings, and road shows conducted on a weekly basis.

Serene Environment

The IBCS campus is a 36 acre property in the heart of nature. The campus also has a beautiful lake. Apart from providing for a serene environment, the lake has also helped to recharge the water table in the area helping many households in the vicinity by rainwater harvesting.

Dining at IBCS

IBCS students are treated to deliciously prepared food grown organically in a poly-house on campus. We also have an on-campus fishery.
